"The project was born from de Peyrecave's conviction that "women in society aren't valued and celebrated. Galleries and public spaces simply aren't representing women."

"De Peyrecave chose her sitters not only for the strides they have made in their respective fields but because of a connection she felt with them or their stories. "I could relate to Sally in the fact that I sometimes don't feel enough or have imposter syndrome," she explains. "As a comedian, Sally is in a space that for a long time didn't welcome women – men are meant to be the funny ones."
